Scrubs for World Autism Awareness Day
On April 2nd of 2017, we will celebrate the ninth annual World Autism Awareness Day! Every year, this day is recognized in order to help build a more unified and supportive community for those affected by autism. Special events and fundraising opportunities are held around the country and world, so be sure to check out what’s happening in your community.
No matter where you live or what hospital you work for, World Autism Awareness Day is an opportunity to show your support and “Light It Up Blue” (#LIUB).
Autism Awareness Day Scrubs
If you’d like to participate in World Autism Awareness Day by wearing blue and puzzle piece attire, Tafford is ready to help!
One of our favorite scrub tops for autism support is the BIO Stretch Bio Stretch Aut-O-Bots Scrub Top. A print with robots built from colorful puzzle pieces? It’ll have young and old alike giving you robot high-fives in the halls. In addition to awesome points, the overlap v-neck, side vents, and cotton/spandex material will keep you cool and comfortable as you visit your patients.
The new Cherokee Give a Hoot for Autism Scrub Top is another great option for autism support. It encourages others to “Give a hoot!” for the cause. Little wide-eyed cartoon owls sit among hearts and a rainbow assortment of puzzle pieces and ribbons. The modern classic fit, v-neck, and 100% cotton fabric keep you comfy while you spread awareness. And the navy blue background makes it easy to pair with your favorite dark blue scrub pants.
Autism Awareness Day Accessories
There is no small gesture when it comes to supporting those living with autism and their families. You can do so year-round by showing off the iconic puzzle piece icon in the accessories you use.
For instance, you can invest in the Nurse Mates Autism Awareness Watch. Every number is a distinct bright hue for easy reading, and the face features a puzzle piece ribbon that’ll serve as a bold statement all year. The watchband is flexible silicone and available in both white and black.
